Rave Cinema
Everybody in the place, make some noise. LSFF throws it back in the ICA Theatre to the heyday of 90s club culture with a selection of short films from that iconic era, mixed with contemporary works that evoke the same free spirit and good vibes.
A chance to see Mark Leckey's seminal doc Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore, Orbital x Tilda Swinton in music video The Box, and Louise Stevens's Baby Girl as she takes to the streets of 1996 Amsterdam. Arjuna Neuman takes us on a journey into the woods, exploring the relationship between the English landscape and illegal raves in 2022's Syncopated Green, via Belgian party culture and psychedelic freakouts in Une Vie A Partager and The Mobius Trip.
Artist and filmmaker duo Julian Hand & Heena Song will fill the theatre space with analogue visuals akin to those found in early warehouse raves, plus sets by special guest DJ Camden, who started DJing as a teenager in 1990, playing squat parties, warehouses and free festivals around the country with Spiral Tribe sound system, as well as organising events against the Criminal Justice Bill and running Elephant parties in the mid nineties. See you front left.
