Documentary: Marching forward, looking back
Reflecting on the traces that linger in the quiet pursuit to understand what lies ahead.
In our most delicate moments of reflection, how are we to reconcile the lingering fragments bridging past and present?
Through an experimentation with home movies, we follow six Scandinavian families and their dealings with grief. A Palestinian filmmaker offers lyrical meditations on loss and longing. In the vast Algerian desert, we uncover the scars of colonial violence etched deep into the landscape's body and ecology. Within the humble confines of a kitchen, we are invited to intimately explore history in the mundane. And in the obscurity of the in-between, where do we find our place in it all?
A programme of new UK and international documentary short film, curated by the LSFF Programme team.
