INDUSTRY: Articulating Diaspora

This event has ended.

15:00 Tue 14 Jan 2020

Rich Mix The Stage

Presenting diasporic experience has, unsuprisingly, not been limited to a single form or genre. Host Nadia Denton continues conversation, dissecting the articulation of diasporic identity through film - whether non-fiction, moving image or even the more palatable vehicle of comedy. For a community defined by dispersion, what opportunities are there for communal filmmaking? And where are meaningful spaces for support, discussion and exhbition?

Panellists:

  • Hetain Patel (Artist, Don’t Look at the Finger)
  • Priya Sharma (Filmmaker, researcher, Stuart Hall PhD Scholar)
  • Chiemi Shimada (Artist Filmmaker, Chiyo)
  • Hosted by Nadia Denton (Film curator, author)

£6 Session Ticket / £10 Day Ticket (2 x sessions) / £35 Week Pass (All sessions) / £2 Low income session tickets (Must be booked in advance)
