Brit Doc Presents How to Become a Holistic Documentary Filmmaker of the 21st Century and Stay Alive
15:00 Wed 31 Jul 2013
What kinds of funding is out there for documentary? How are filmmakers surviving? How can filmmakers engage audiences? In this informal session hosted by BRITDOC’s Luke Moody and co, will discuss specific examples of the increasingly interwoven practices of developing, funding, producing and distributing documentary film. This workshop is aimed at directors and producers with a need to engage audiences and find new partners in the industry.
Submit your film (as a rough cut, or partially completed) for a chance to present your work to a panel of film professionals and receive feedback on how to improve and foster your filmmaking skills. The feedback you receive will help you evolve the film for eligibility into the next London Short Film Festival, so as we can actively track the developments in your work. If you would like to submit your film, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with a link and accompanying filmography by 22nd July. Selected filmmakers will also receive a free short session with the Film Festival Doctor to discuss a festival strategy.
Each event will feature an hour long panel discussion aimed at enhancing your film knowledge on subjects such as pitching, script writing, funding, female representation in film, the future of film festivals and digital distribution.
Continue the conversation late into the evening with fellow like-minded filmmakers and industry professionals.
