London Short Film Festival: Meet the Filmmakers

A chance to look at the careers of 3 filmmakers who’ve had success in the London Short Film Festival; they will talk about how the Festival impacted on their work, and what they feel the importance of the Festival is to the filmmaking community. There will be a chance to follow their careers and to see what they have planned for the future.
Nick studied Art and English Literature at Exeter University and Art School, and came to filmmaking via directing pop videos for bands such as Leftfield, Gallon Drunk, Huggy Bear, Prolapse, David Holmes, Baby Bird, Manic Street Preachers and many many more. Nick has continually been making films, documentaries and art projects, including collaborations with Turner Prize winning artist Jeremy Deller on films about Depeche Mode fans and counter-culture artist Bruce Lacey. His film EKKI MUKK for Icelandic rockers Sigur Ros won the British Council Award for Best UK Short at the 2013 London Short Film Festival.
Muriel studied Screenwriting in Amsterdam and ran a production company in The Netherlands before settling in London. She returned to studies for a Masters in Filmmaking & Directing at the London Film School, where she graduated with distinction. Her graduation film GOOD NIGHT screened at the 2013 London Short Film Festival before being nominated for a short film BAFTA. Over the past four years she has written, directed and shot several award winning short films and documentaries.
As an actress, Kate has appeared in numerous films, including Neil Jordan’s Mona Lisa, Jack and Sarah, Cry Freedom, The Krays, and Croupier. In 2006 she graduated in screenwriting from the National Film and Television School, and subsequently wrote two plays in Channel 4’s Coming Up series, IMPRINTS (2007) and LITTLE BILL UM (2008), the latter also being her directorial debut. Her short film SHOOT ME starring Claire Skinner and Paul Andrew Williams and produced by Rankin, screened at the 2013 London Short Film Festival.
Tickets to LSFF: 2013 and Beyond are available for purchase at a cost of Â£30. This one-off payment allows each participant to attend as many sessions as they like and we fully welcome those who would like to attend the full programme.
