Une Vie à Partager
In Une vie à partager we follow several young people from Brussels. In particular MJ, Billie, Max, Ines, Hadrien, Walid, Aliyah, Mathis and Merlin. Their deep bond is passed on through their light-hearted interactions, how they play and laugh with each other, and also how they can communicate their questions and concerns. The night of a party, they have dinner together at Aliyah's house. The banal takes on a certain depth if we dwell on it long enough.
Billie and MJ grew up together in Sint-Gilles and reminisce about places that no longer exist. The group's relationship with Brussels will be very central, their love for this city but also their questions and concerns.Throughout the party there are many sharing moments, experiences, interests and opinions are shared. Hadrien and Merlin are inseparable and they invite the group on vacation. They look for different ways to get money. Noah shares new lyrics, everyone shares something, always.
The next morning, Angelisa makes peppermint tea, an overarching mother figure to the group. She is a woman who is very young at heart and at the same time provides the group with necessary life lessons. She tells about the rise of free parties in Brussels, what she has taken from here for life.
A fictionalised documentary portrait of a group of friends with the central themes of the city, community and solidarity.
