British Council Award for Best New Short

The winning filmmaker will receive £1000 in cash, courtesy of the British Council.

Watersprite Film Festival Award for Best Student Short

The winning filmmaker will receive tickets to the Watersprite Student Film Festival (travel included) and tickets to the invitation-only Awards Ceremony, Aftershow Party and Closing Night Events, as well as 22 Production Music DVDs from VIDEOBLOCKS.

C4 Alpha Fund Sheffield Doc/Fest Award for Best Short Documentary

The winning filmmaker will receive a Delegate Pass for Doc/Fest 2013, courtesy of Doc/Fest. They will also have the opportunity to get their film on national television and will receive a C4 development commission from editor of short film, Ravi Amaratunga.

ICA Award for Best Experimental Short

The winning filmmaker will receive a ‘reel 100’ membership worth £100 which includes all the benefits of an ICA membership, plus their name on a wall plaque and 12 free cinema tickets. ICA will host the winning film on their website and (length-permitting) screen in their trailer wheel for a week. Thanks to ICA.

Dirty Looks Award for Best Music Short

The winning filmmaker will receive a full package picture grade and mastering for a short film including one day Base light grade, DigiBeta and DCP (Digital Cinema) version and data files, Courtesy of Dirty Looks.

Lomography Award for Best Lo-Budget Short

The winning filmmaker will receive a Lomography camera package and a one to one workshop, courtesy of Lomography.

Underwire Award for Best Female Character

The winning film is guaranteed a screening at Underwire Festival in 2013 and the winning filmmaker will be invited to sit on the jury for the Underwire Best Director Award. Thanks to Underwire.

Shorts International Award for Best Midnight Short

The winning filmmaker will have an opportunity to show their film on Shorts International’s European broadcasting channel. Thanks to Shorts International.

LoCo Award for Best Comedy Short

The winning filmmaker will receive a free place on the LoCollege course in ‘Kickstart Your Comedy Career’, worth £100. Thanks to LoCo.
